Representing India, Suryavanshi once again failed to make a significant contribution with the bat, scoring only 21 runs against Sri Lanka A in Dambulla. The batter was dismissed by Sri Lanka A captain Sahan Arachchige, whose spin bowling proved difficult for him to handle.
The latest setback follows another low score against Sri Lanka A in the previous match, where Suryavanshi managed only 14 runs. On that occasion, he was trapped by Sri Lanka A fast bowler Mohammad Shiraz, who deceived him with a full-length delivery.
Suryavanshi's best performance in the series came against Afghanistan, where he scored 44 runs from 22 deliveries. However, he was unable to convert the start into a major innings after falling into a bouncer trap set by fast bowler Abdullah Ahmadzai.
Despite featuring prominently throughout the tournament, Suryavanshi has yet to register a half-century in the Tri-Series. His struggles have drawn attention, particularly after his explosive performances in the Indian Premier League, where team management allowed him complete freedom to play his natural attacking game.
In contrast, the young batter has appeared under pressure while representing India in the One-Day format. The ongoing series has highlighted the challenges of adapting from franchise T20 cricket to international-level One-Day competition, with Suryavanshi still searching for the breakthrough innings that could revive his campaign.
